My name is Philippe Weier. I’m Swiss and graduated with a Masters in Computer Science at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Before starting my PhD in Computer Graphics at the Universität des Saarlandes, I was a Rendering Researcher at Weta Digital, where I mainly worked on improving the performance of light transport algorithms. I have experience in appearance modelling, spectral rendering, appearance filtering and differentiable rendering. During my PhD, my research will focus on efficiently simulating phenomena at the edge of the visible spectrum and beyond.
