Start Date : 18 Jan 2021
My name is Arthur Firmino and I am Portuguese-Canadian. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, and have also received a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Victoria, during which I did a project on the physically based rendering of ice crystal halos. I have worked in the video-game industry in Vancouver and am now very excited about joining the PRIME project as ESR 04 at Luxion. The goal of my project is to develop robust error bounds and estimates for sophisticated rendering algorithms and image denoisers, in such a way that it can be of practical use to artists and provide a guarantees of image quality. I look forward to collaborating on research with the other ESRs and research groups, as well as the opportunity to work with industrial partners.
