The Eurographics Symposium on Rendering (EGSR) which was happening from 4th to 7th July 2022 in Prague was a great opportunity to invite PRIME members for a follow-up training – a 1-day training at CUNI and after that a networking and soft skills training in Czech mountains.
The training day and following weekend offered these sessions:
Technical training:
- Applied Research in VFX (invited guest Andrea Weidlich, NVIDIA)
- Polarisation in capture (Abhijeet Ghosh, ICL)
Other training:
- lab visit at CUNI: Emilie Nogué (ESR) and Tobias Rittig (member of Computer Graphics Group of CUNI) did a computer lab session focused on spectral simulations as well as a practical lab session. Emilie demonstrated the optical bench as well as some of the optical components that the CUNI research group has. It was a hands-on experimental session to align optical components and observe optical effects such as dispersion, diffraction and fluorescence
- soft skills – Research work efficiency, life-work balance & practical tips (Tim Weyrich, FAU)
- the ESRs did a brainstorming session during which the mind-map of interconnections and possible collaborations was created
